The Baton Rouge Pet Emergency is open 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week, weekends and all holidays, always available for general or emergency care. Our team is actually on duty in the hospital at all times.
The Baton Rouge Animal Hospital was funded by Dr. Mike McElveen in 1988, to provide a full-service preventative care general practice facility. In 1991, Dr. Mike and Dr. Ron Ponthieux opened the Baton Rouge Pet Emergency Hospital, which functions in the same location after the day clinic closes. Under new administration since 2018, the existing services is now complemented by state-of-the-art equipment and services implemented by Dr. Greta Goranova.
Over the years we have treated thousands of canine, feline and some exotic patients and have seen and diagnosed virtually every sickness and ailment known to affect animals. The Baton Rouge Pet Emergency Hospital has been trusted for years by local Baton Rouge veterinarians who turn their phones over to them nightly and every weekend.
